New 2017 Jeep Renegade Altitude and Deserthawk Features
For the 2017 model year, Jeep introduced two new models for the popular Renegade: the Altitude and the Deserthawk. These models were unveiled for the first time at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and now offer Jeep buyers new and unique features when they select the 2017 Jeep Renegade as their vehicle of choice. Let’s take a look at what you can find in each one.
The Altitude model for the Jeep Renegade is the latest addition to the Altitude models found across the current Jeep lineup. It features a blacked-out look through black grille rings, rear fascia and glossy Jeep badging on the front and rear of the vehicle.
The blacked out design theme also extends to the interior, which features black premium cloth seats and high gloss black finishes. To contrast this, there are Metal Diamond accents at key interior design points that include the shift knob and the door handles.
Since the Altitude is based on the original Latitude trim, it can come with one of the two engine options also available for the Latitude. The first is a 2.4-liter Tigershark engine paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission, while the other is a 1.4-liter turbo engine paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
What Comes With the 2017 Renegade Deserthawk?
In the same way the Altitude expands on the Latitidue model, the Deserthawk expands on the Trailhawk model of the Renegade. As you may have guessed, the Deserthawk model was inspired by the desert and comes offered in appropriate colors that include Alpine White, Anvil, Black or the Deserthawk-exclusive Mojave Sand. The interior of the Deserthawk features black leather seats, Light Frost stitching and accents, a cargo tray mat and all-weather floor mats.
Like the Trailhawk, the Renegade Deserthawk is equipped with the Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system for a 20:1 crawl ratio, as well as the Selec-Terrain system that has an exclusive Rock Mode. Also helping you take things off-road is the vehicle’s 8.7 inches of ground clearance and up to 19 inches of water fording capability.
