Blacked out features on vehicles are becoming more common these days, and they are no longer exclusively for auto enthusiasts with the knowledge to modify their vehicle themselves. In fact, Chevy will be adding to its blacked-out lineup by offering what it calls “Midnight Edition” models of the 2017 Tahoe and Suburban when they release later this year, delivering a uniquely sophisticated design to these popular SUVs.

These full-size SUVs will both be offered with two Midnight Edition packages: the Z71 Midnight Package and the LT Midnight Package. Let’s take a look at what features receive the blackout treatment on each one.

Features Included With the 2017 Tahoe and Suburban Midnight Packages
Z71 Midnight

2017 Tahoe and Suburban models equipped with the Z71 Midnight Package will receive the off-road features already included in the Z71 Package, such as skid plates, tow hooks, fog lamps, hill descent control, Z71 badging and more. On top of all that, though, Z71 Midnight Package models also receive the following blacked out features:

18-inch black-painted Z71 wheels
Black grille insert
Black Chevy bowtie logo badging
Roof rack cross rails

LT Midnight

LT Midnight variants of these two SUVs expand on the features already included on the LT trim levels for each model. Blacked out features on these models include:

20-inch black wheels
Roof rack cross rails
Black assist steps
Black Chevy bowtie logo badging
These changes may seem small, but simply look at the photos and you’ll be able to see how much these blacked out features change the overall appearance for each vehicle.

What Other Chevy Models Have Midnight Editions?

If you’re not interested in a full-size SUV, Chevy does offer Midnight Editions on other models as well. The Suburban and Tahoe are simply the latest to receive the blacked out treatment. Other Midnight Edition models can be found on the Silverado and Colorado pickups, as well as the Equinox and Trax crossovers.
